From essential household items to travel, dining and entertainment, the rising costs of everyday expenses are hurting Americans’ wallets while putting pressure on every aspect of business for retailers. The National Retail Federation (NRF), the world’s largest trade association for the retail industry, needed to visualize and contextualize how the rising cost of a product is driven by a multitude of factors before that product reaches retailers.

Adfero’s solution incorporated easily recognizable elements from household board game favorites to contextualize the costly journey of an everyday product on its path to the retailer. 

This gameboard-style microsite on the NRF website highlighted key inflation-related facts and figures and drove users to an Action Center and encourages them to send a letter to policymakers. This interactive tool also helped continue conversations about the harm of inflation, with members of Congress addressing inflation in the Fiscal Year 2023 Omnibus Appropriations Bill.
