Creative Copywriter

Working closely with a team of designers, you will create and execute creative concepts to support strategic communications campaigns. You are eager to flex your conceptual thinking skills and embrace client interaction. You see the “big picture” in campaigns and are a natural team leader that values collaboration to produce the best work possible.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead copywriting across multiple public affairs and issue advocacy-focused accounts.
  • Develop messaging guidelines and language for client campaigns across channels.
  • Work closely account teams, designers, and web developers to execute concepts and materials to support communication strategies.
  • Write copy for websites, social/digital posts, video scripts, blogs, marketing collateral, and more.
  • Coordinate with clients and client teams on content strategy and deliverables.
  • Provide feedback to other team members who also write for clients to improve their quality of work.
  • Contribute to writing and copy-editing proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain copywriting best practices across accounts.

Client work will vary between trade associations, nonprofits, corporations, the federal government, as well as Adfero branded initiatives. All of this work will be done in a collaborative environment working across creative, account, and interactive teams.

Our Creative Copywriter must have:
  • 4-6 years of copywriting experience in a client-facing environment, agency experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree or BFA in a related discipline and/or a comprehensive written portfolio
  • Experience copywriting in highly regulated industries and/or for different channels
  • The ability to prioritize, adjust and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a quick-turnaround environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to present and talk through approach to internal and external audiences
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while independently managing projects
  • Interest in and knowledge of DC public affairs and issue advocacy

Web Developer

You will collaborate with developers, designers and strategic communicators on advertising, public education and issue advocacy projects that take the form of digital, print, mobile and video for our clients. You are passionate about problem solving, love creative and innovative web design, communicate exceptionally, and act as a proactive, detail-oriented team player. 

In this role you’ll be called on to:
  • Provide website design, development, testing, management, and support of hardware/software infrastructure.
  • Perform all aspects of developmental tasks, including front-end, back-end, and database development.
  • Manage resources to ensure timely and successful deliveries of assets.
  • Work closely with designers and on account teams to achieve client goals.
Our Web Developers must have:
  • 4-6 years of PHP development experience
  • Proficient experience in Drupal and WordPress
  • Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript
  • Experience with React, Vue and/or Svelte is a plus
  • Understanding of the Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) stack and other web technologies
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Interest in UX/UI design a plus
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple simultaneous deadlines and schedules
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to both collaborate on a team and work independently
  • Initiative, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • The ability to pass security clearance
