Katy Montgomery
Katy is ambitious. She strives to reach great heights—and has a plan to get there. Skilled at navigating complex and often unchartered situations, Katy is passionate about helping people and organizations build their vision and achieve key goals.
As executive vice president and chief client officer, Katy brings her experience as a strategic communications leader to provide public policy, corporate communications and business strategy insights across Adfero’s Health, Public Affairs and Energy and Sustainability practices.
Previously, Katy served as Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications at Cyber Defense Labs, managing multiple functions and driving key strategic initiatives surrounding revenue opportunities, communications and brand positioning to advance the business forward.
Earlier in her career, Katy served as a Principal with The Chertoff Group, as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and as a White House spokesperson and communications advisor. Her experience includes implementing strategic communications and media strategies, recognizing and reacting to emerging issues and partnering with C-suites to inform corporate communications.
Katy graduated from California State University–Sacramento with a BA in Liberal Studies and resides with her family in Alexandria, VA.
Little-known fact: While not a painter or artist by practice, Katy loves to surround herself with color—she’s even decorated her home office with orange wallpaper. A bold choice for some, but one that creates a bright, beautiful space for her.
