Sean Flaherty

Sean Flaherty is a seasoned technology executive with a distinguished career in the architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) markets. Based in Washington, DC, Sean has over three decades of experience driving innovation, leading strategic growth, transforming organizations, and governing companies in public and private settings. 

Sean started his career in technology as the second employee at Vectorworks, Inc. and created one of the world’s first digital architectural solutions. From there he served in various executive roles, including ten years as CEO, as the company grew into a global innovator. The company was acquired by the Nemetschek Group who is a public German strategic holding company where Sean expanded his role to become a member of the Executive Board and Chairman of six of the daughter companies of the group. During this period, the Nemetschek Group’s market capitalization increased six times to more than €6B. 

Since leaving the Nemetschek Group at the end of 2018, Sean has been a consultant and independent director for global private equity companies and currently serves as a board member or chairman of four platform companies for these investors, as well as a strategic advisor for Adfero. He strives to add strong governance to companies in their growth stage of development by working closely with executive leadership teams to design organizations and strategies that create repeatable success.
