A New Era of Success: Adfero Announces Leadership Updates
April 1, 2025
WASHINGTON - Adfero, a strategic communications and public affairs firm, enters its 20th year of business with a revitalized and seasoned leadership team following the onboarding of Chief Executive Officer, Steve Lombardo, last month.
Lombardo, an agency veteran who previously led global public affairs and crisis shops, joins the firm’s team of executive leaders who bring decades of experience in business operations, corporate communications and public affairs inside the Beltway and beyond.
“It is an honor to join such a driven and passionate team of communications professionals at Adfero,” said Lombardo. “I’m looking forward to leading the firm towards continued success as we commemorate its 20th anniversary this year.”
After serving as CEO for two years, and more than twenty with the firm, Darren Scher steps into the role of Managing Director, Finance. Over his 20-year tenure, Darren has worn many hats to help grow Adfero into the strategic communications and public affairs firm it is today. He previously served as Adfero’s Director of Interactive Services, building the firm’s web development capabilities, and later, Chief Operating Officer, where he led day-to-day business operations.
Chief Client Officer, Katy Montgomery, continues to lead client strategy across the firm’s industry practice areas. Katy brings her experience as a strategic communications leader to provide public policy, corporate communications and business strategy insights across Adfero’s Health, Public Affairs and Energy and Agriculture practices.
Lauren Tyler, former Chief of Staff with more than ten years at Adfero, is named Chief Impact Officer, overseeing the firm’s external affairs and corporate strategy. Lauren leads the firm’s people and resourcing strategy, guides marketing efforts, coaches and develops teammates and manages Adfero’s Executive Team operations and strategic initiatives.
Paul Mavrikes joins the firm’s senior leadership team as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the successful management of business operations. Mavrikes most recently served as the Director of Business Operations at Texas A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service in DC.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for our team,” said Lauren Tyler, Chief Impact Officer. “We have a strong foundation rooted in Adfero’s mission and core values of teamwork, responsibility, continuous learning and respect. With fresh energy and expertise, we are primed to enter the next chapter of the firm and see continued growth and success for our clients and team.”
