Leveraging Technology to Mobilize Membership

How does a trade association mobilize its diverse membership around policy threats?

Adfero answered that question when the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) needed a way to rally member organizations around policy battles that directly impact their industry. Leveraging technology and animated user experience tactics, Adfero designed an interactive Congressional mapping tool to showcase policy movements.

For years, AdvaMed has worked to mobilize its membership around repealing the medical device tax. But because of the diversity and size of AdvaMed’s membership, past attempts to unite the industry and activate on repeal legislation have been difficult to streamline.

By putting ourselves in the perspective of the member company representatives and executives in DC, we designed a tool centered on an efficient user experience. The interactive map can be updated in real-time and offers niche filtering to visualize levels of support for device tax repeal among members of the House and Senate.

With this tool, Adfero positioned AdvaMed as the primary resource for updates on medical device tax repeal. Members can now access the tool through their AdvaMed member portal and easily evaluate where legislative support stands on the policy.
